Structural Yoga Therapy Assessment and Consultation


Your yoga therapist will give a detailed assessment of your flexibility and strength and from that information create a personalized Structural Yoga Therapy™ (SYT) program adapted to your individual unique needs. When health is optimum, natural range of motion and muscle strength will be found. Any illness, injury or unsuitable routine will change that harmonious relationship.  SYT adapts exercises to suit the individual, so that pain and limited mobility can be eliminated


Private Yoga Instruction


A private yoga session is an opportunity to work one on one to address your individual practice. In a private session we will work with your specific needs and questions, so you will receive the individual attention that may not be possible in a group class. For new students, private sessions are an ideal way to learn basic poses and proper breathing techniques. For those whose special concerns would make joining a group class difficult, we can tailor an appropriate program for you at your personal level. For advanced students, private classes help to deepen your practice or address areas of weakness or injury.


Pilates on the Equipment


Pilates is a balanced blend of strength and flexibility training. It improves posture, strengthens and stabilizes the core, reduces stress and creates long and lean muscles without bulking up.

Practiced faithfully, Pilates yields numerous benefits. Increased lung capacity and circulation through deep, healthy breathing is a primary focus. Strength and flexibility, particularly of the abdomen and back muscles, coordination-both muscular and mental, are key components in an effective Pilates program. Posture, balance, and core strength are all heartily increased. Bone density and joint health improve, and many experience positive body awareness for the first time. Pilates teaches balance and control of the body, and that capacity spills over into other areas of one's life.

Pilates Mat


Pilates Mat work is wonderful in that it takes the fundamental principles from this work, utilizing variations of the original apparatus choreography, and can be done virtually anywhere without need of special equipment. Movements initiate from the core and flow out through the spine and limbs. Many people find the Mat work very challenging as the exercises use gravity and the weight of the extremities as the resistance.

Because this method of exercising uses smooth, controlled movements it is excellent not only for the client wanting to increase their level of fitness, but can be used for injury prevention and rehabilitation. Frances structures her classes such that both beginners and seasoned pilates practitioners have the chance to find the appropriate challenge for their level of skill. She gives variations on the classics with both modifications to make the exercises accessible to beginners and options to challenge advanced students. Frances uses her skills to educate students on ideal levels of strength and range of motion for functional fitness.



Holistic Personal Training


TaylorFit Wellness offers personalized programs in your home or office. These workouts are based on the needs and goals of the client and may include aerobic conditioning as well as strength, flexibility, and balance training. Some people have specific health concerns. Other people find that a gym or group class in not appropriate for them. And some people are simply unable to find the motivation to work out on their own. Whatever the reasons are, TaylorFit Wellness will create an exercise situation that works for you.

Holistic Health Counseling


Holistic Health Counseling at TaylorFit Wellness is based on the pioneering work of Joshua Rosenthal of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.  It includes education, guidance and support around making healthier food and lifestyle choices, but it goes beyond traditional nutrition counseling in that it looks at the big picture in order to empower you to create a more vibrant, joyful, healthy, productive and rewarding life.

Health counseling sessions are organized in a Six-Month Program so you can take in and reinforce the benefits of the new habits you create. As with any new skill it takes practice and often when things get challenging it is exactly that moment you need to stick with it in order to resist the temptation of falling into your old familiar ways of doing things.  Following a 90 minute initial consultation, participants attend a total of 12 bi-monthly health consultations over a period of six months.  The program also includes a health food store tour, and a variety of books and supplies. Topics addressed in the program include:

The benefits of a diet based in whole grains, organic root vegetables, dark leafy greens, sea vegetables and quality sources of protein

How to navigate conflicting dietary advice, and ultimately learn how to create a diet that is right for you as an individual and unique being

The adverse effects of eating “extreme” foods, and how to interpret your cravings

Practical ways to cook healthy meals at home, as well as make better food choices when dining out

The role that emotions play in our food choices, and how to nourish the heart

Sleep, relationships, work, play, finances, personal goals, professional aspirations and more!!!

Organize cooking classes for a special event or just for yourself.

cooking classes are a great way to learn more about the one thing we do on a daily basis. EAT! It’s often challenging to nourish ourselves as we would like to. If you’re bored with your regular fare and want a fresh new healthy meal to make or if you are completely new to cooking this is a great way to get you revved up about taking good care of yourself.
