I have been a big fan of the Pocket Pema Chodron book for a long time. I used to only read the passages that I thought were rainbows and puppy dogs, but have graduated to reading all that is there to read. I find that it addresses many aspects and stages and phases of life and brings both comfort as well as a good real look at the truth of the ups and downs of what make life what it is.

This is Swami Venkatesananda's longer Yoga Vasistha.  Its purpose is to provide a means to eliminate psychological conditioning and to attain liberation. Containing the instructions of the sage Vasistha to Lord Rama, this scripture is full of intricately woven tales, the kind a great teacher might tell to hold the interest of a student

Finding God in the Waves is yet another great book about the pathway to discovering what really works for you in developing your own spiritual practice. Mike McHargue tells his own story of having and then losing and then finding a pathway that worked for him in his individual journey. I found this book heart warming and inspiring.

When Things Fall Apart was recommended to me by a good friend at a time when I felt things were really falling apart and I can't believe it was just the simple reminder that was needed. "Did you read When Things Fall Apart" yet? and so I got myself a ready copy and began that day. I am grateful for the knowledge and wisdom of Pema Chodron and appreciate her humor and real-ness and connectedness to the human condition.

To a small child, the world is an exciting but sometimes frightening and unstable place. In The Magic Years, Selma Fraiberg takes the reader into the mind of the child, showing how he confronts the world and learns to cope with it. With great warmth and perception, she discusses the problems at each stage of development and reveals the qualities—above all, the quality of understanding—that can provide the right answer at critical moments.

We all have two dogs inside of us. One dog is positive, happy, optimistic, and hopeful. The other dog is negative, mad, sad, pessimistic, and fearful. These two dogs often fight inside us, but guess who wins the fight? The one you feed the most. So begins the story about a negative mutt named Matt and a big dog named Bubba who teaches him how to feed himself with positivity each day and in the process Matt transforms his own life and the shelter they call home.
The Positive Dog is an inspiring, heartwarming story that not only reveals the strategies and benefits of being positive but also an essential truth for humans: Being positive doesn't just make you better. It makes everyone around you better.

This Basic Yoga Mat is a little thicker than the one in the bundle. I wouldn't go any thicker than this because it makes the balance more challenging. 68" long 24" wide ensures comfort. With high density eco friendly material, the 1/4'' thick premium mat comfortably cushions spine, hips, knees and elbows on hard floors while keeps you balanced

I recommend having two blocks. Use under your hands, feet or seat (meditation) to ensure the proper alignment needed in order to safely support and modify poses to suit your level of flexibility If you feel tight, don't risk injury and grab a block or two
